Marijuana and Alcohol

I think that many teens are getting involved in using these substances because they are being pressured. I feel like teenagers are being swayed into these situations and don't know how to get out of them. A lot of them are just caught up in the moment and don't know what to do. All teenagers are experiencing new things, it's a part of life. Everyone makes mistakes and learns from them. Most teenagers become hooked right away though, and that's the problem. They are not thinking of the consequences when they use these substances. They think everything will be okay, but it most likely isn't. You're not only hurting yourself, but you're hurting your friends and family too. All they care about is a "good feeling" that's coming from that drug, and it's not worth it. Some of the long term effects of marijuana are enhanced cancer risk, decrease in testosterone levels and lower sperm counts for men, increase in testosterone levels for women and increased risk of infertility, diminished or extinguished sexual pleasure, and psychological dependence requiring more of the drug to get the same effect. Some of the long term effects of alcohol is permanent damage to your vital organs such as the brain and liver, anxiety, convulsions, and hallucinations. Drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana are not good for you at all. I think teens should start realizing that there are other ways of having fun. You don't need to drink or smoke in order to have fun and if you do shame on you.
